Reading the plan table
- vCPU
- A virtual core on a modern server CPU. Two vCPUs run Tally or a small .NET application for a handful of people comfortably; add cores as more people work at the same time.
- RAM
- Windows itself uses a few gigabytes before your software starts. As a rough guide, allow 1–2 GB for each person working on the server at the same time — tell us your users and we'll size it.
- NVMe storage
- Solid-state storage, several times faster than SATA SSD. Windows and its updates take a share of it; the rest is for your software and data. Backups are stored separately and don't count.
- Transfer
- Total data your server sends each month. Remote Desktop and Tally use very little; almost nobody on these plans reaches the limit, and we'll warn you before you do.
- Windows Server licence
- Included in the price. It covers the server and two administrator Remote Desktop sessions; more people connecting at the same time each need a Remote Desktop Services licence.

Questions people ask
Which Windows VPS plan do I need?
For Tally with two to four people, Windows Cloud 8 (2 vCPU, 8 GB). For five to ten people, or Tally alongside another application, Windows Cloud 16. Beyond that, Windows Cloud 24 or Windows Cloud 32 — or a dedicated server. Tell us your software and how many people use it at once, and we'll confirm.
Can I run Tally on a Windows VPS?
Yes — it's the most common use. Tally is installed on the server, your company data lives there, and each person connects by Remote Desktop from the office, home or a branch. You use your own Tally licence; for several people working at once, that needs to be TallyPrime Gold.
How many people can use Remote Desktop at once?
Two administrators with the included Windows licence. For more people at the same time, each needs a Remote Desktop Services licence (RDS CAL): price on request. We set up the licensing and the user accounts.
Is the Windows licence included?
Yes. Every plan includes the Windows Server licence (2019 or 2022), which is why a Windows VPS costs more than the Linux plan of the same size. SQL Server Express is free; SQL Server Standard licences are quoted separately.
Is a Windows server safe to reach over the internet?
It is when Remote Desktop isn't open to the whole internet. Our hardening covers firewall rules, Remote Desktop restricted to your IP addresses, account lockout and Microsoft Defender, and we keep Windows patched. The usual way these servers are broken into is an open Remote Desktop port with a weak password — we close that on day one.
Can I run MS SQL Server?
Yes. SQL Server Express is free and suits databases up to 10 GB each; for anything larger, SQL Server Standard licences are quoted separately. We install, patch and back up either.
What if Tally or my application is slow?
We check the server first — CPU, memory, disk — and tell you plainly whether the server or the software is the cause. If the server is short of resources, moving up a plan is a short scheduled restart. Support & SLA
Can I move to a dedicated server later?
