Who needs a paid certificate
For you if: A client's security checklist asks for a certificate from a named authority; you're installing on a server or device that can't renew certificates automatically; or you want one wildcard for every subdomain — and you'd like it on a GST invoice, installed and reissued by someone you can call.
Not for you if
- Your site is hosted with us → a free Let's Encrypt certificate is already included and renewed automatically
- Your hosting panel issues free certificates automatically, as most cPanel and Plesk servers do → you probably don't need to pay
- You need your company's name checked and shown in the certificate (OV or EV) → ask us for a quote
SSL certificate prices
| Plan | Validation | Covers | Price | Enquire |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Sectigo PositiveSSL | DV | One domain, with and without www | ₹2,188 a year, ex-GST | Ask |
GeoTrust QuickSSL | DV | One domain, with and without www | ₹7,499 a year, ex-GST | Ask |
Essential Wildcard | DV wildcard | All first-level subdomains of one domain | ₹9,999 a year, ex-GST | Ask |
Prices a year in INR, exclusive of 18% GST. Renews at the same price. Installation is charged separately, ₹3,500 plus GST. No certificate can now be valid for more than 200 days, so a year's certificate is reissued during the year: we reissue it at no extra charge, and on a server we host the one-time installation charge covers reinstalling it.

- The request (CSR) generated and the order placed for you

Reading the plan table
- DV, OV and EV
- Domain validation (DV) proves you control the domain, and is issued in minutes. Organisation validation (OV) also checks your company, and extended validation (EV) checks it more thoroughly. Browsers show the same padlock for all three.
- Wildcard
- One certificate for every first-level subdomain of a domain — shop.example.com, mail.example.com — so you don't buy one per subdomain.
- Free or paid
- A paid DV certificate encrypts no better than a free Let's Encrypt one. You pay for the issuer's name, its warranty, and a certificate for places that can't renew automatically — free certificates last 90 days and Let's Encrypt no longer emails before they expire.
- 200 days
- Since 15 March 2026, no public certificate can be valid for more than 200 days; the limit falls to 100 days in 2027 and 47 in 2029. A year's certificate is a subscription, reissued as the limit requires.
- Sectigo and GeoTrust
- Two of the certificate authorities whose root certificates are trusted by every major browser and operating system.

Bought in rupees, supported from Jaipur
Certificates are priced in rupees on a GST invoice from a Jaipur-registered business, so you can claim the input tax credit. If a browser shows a certificate warning, you call or WhatsApp our team in Jaipur, in English or Hindi.

Questions people ask
How much does an SSL certificate cost in India?
At Chandnas, ₹2,188/year for a Sectigo PositiveSSL, ₹7,499/year for GeoTrust QuickSSL and ₹9,999/year for a wildcard, exclusive of GST. A free Let's Encrypt certificate costs nothing and encrypts just as well.
Is a free SSL certificate good enough?
For most websites, yes: Let's Encrypt certificates are trusted by every major browser and encrypt exactly as well as paid ones, and they renew automatically. Pay when a client's checklist asks for a named issuer, when you need your company's name in the certificate, or when the server can't renew automatically.
How long is an SSL certificate valid now?
At most 200 days, for any certificate issued since 15 March 2026. The limit falls to 100 days from March 2027 and 47 days from March 2029. So a one-year certificate is reissued during the year; we reissue it at no extra charge, and on a server we host the one-time installation charge covers reinstalling it.
Does my website need SSL at all?
Yes. Chrome has labelled pages without HTTPS "Not secure" since 2018, and since Chrome 154, released in September 2026, it asks visitors' permission before opening a public site that doesn't use HTTPS. A free certificate is enough to avoid both.
What's the difference between DV, OV and EV?
How much the issuer checks. DV confirms you control the domain; OV also checks that your company exists; EV checks it more thoroughly. Browsers show the same padlock for all three, so for most websites DV is enough.
What does a wildcard certificate cover?
Every first-level subdomain of one domain: www.example.com and shop.example.com are covered, but not a.shop.example.com. Most wildcards also cover example.com itself, but not all do, so we confirm it for yours. It's cheaper than separate certificates once you have three or four subdomains.
Do you install the certificate?
Yes, for ₹3,500 plus GST. On a server we host, that's a one-time charge. On a server we don't host, each installation is charged, and because a certificate now lasts at most 200 days, a year's certificate is installed at least twice. We reissue it before each expiry, so you don't have to touch the server.
What happens if a certificate expires?
Browsers show a full-page warning and most visitors leave. That's why we reissue before each expiry and remind you well before the yearly renewal.
